Intended Use: Melanotan II is designed for Research Purposes only. All peptides require reconstitution with Bacteriostatic water (BAC water), sold separately.

Storage: Store the vial in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Once reconstituted, keep refrigerated at 2-8°C.

Solubility: Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water for best results.

UV Protection in Mice – Preclinical data—including work on related melanocortin receptor agonists—suggest MC₁ activation enhances melanin-mediated defense mechanisms, promotes DNA repair, and reduces UV-induced damage, implying that Melanotan II may similarly bolster natural UV protection via melanin production .

Neurological and Endocrine Activity in Rats – In rats, systemic administration of Melanotan II activated oxytocin-producing neurons in the hypothalamus (SON and PVN), increasing Fos expression and neuronal firing, indicating MT‑II engages central melanocortin pathways with downstream neuroendocrine effects

Melanotan II works by mimicking the body’s natural alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH), which activates melanocortin receptors, especially MC1R, to increase melanin production in the skin.

This rise in melanin leads to skin darkening, even without significant sun exposure.

It also interacts with other melanocortin receptors, which can influence appetite, sexual function, and mood.
